Contact mode force curve : To check the deflection of cantilever. There are many kinds of force make tip deflection. Depend on what kind of force you want to measure. Friendly speaking, in order to know the whole tip deflection circule, you will use maybe too much force and make tip break.
Tapping mode Force curve : To check the amplitude change with different height. To move tip closer to surface will make cantilever amplitude much smaller than original free amplitude.It also possible to make tip break.
For biotechnology application, we need very small spring constant to measure strench force...In reqular application, no so many appplication need to use force curve.

兄台,在下认为力曲线是一个比较复杂的东西,首先,
[接触/静态力曲线可以理解为针尖-样品间距离同针尖作用力的关系]
严格来讲是不对的,力曲线只是针尖样品间作用力关于扫描管位移的的关系,
即图上的纵轴为作用力,横轴实际上为扫描管的位置,而不是针尖的位置,因为当针尖与样品发生相互作用时,悬臂会发生形变(样品也可能发生形变)。
所以我们通常所说的力曲线为力-位移曲线而不是力-距离曲线。
[轻敲/动态力曲线可以理解为针尖-样品间距离同悬臂振幅大小的关系。]
