Carl Zeiss Hungary Moves Production Line to Mexico

Carl Zeiss Hungary, a subsidiary of German optical and optoelectronic group Carl Zeiss Vision AG, plans to move its plastic lenses production to Mexico, at the loss of 220 jobs, it was reported on July 17, 2007.

Deputy CEO Ilona Radics explained the move with the lower labour costs in Mexico. The job cuts will be completed by May 2007.
