Evaluation of Tandem Mass Spectrometry

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 525.2, “Determination of Organic Compounds in Drinking Water by Liquid – Solid Extraction and Capillary Column Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry”, is a broad-spectrum method for the analysis of over 100 organic compounds in drinking water, source water, or drinking water in any treatment stage. Chemical classes included in this method are pesticides, herbicides, plasticizers, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), and other industrial chemicals.
