Theacid-treatedmulti-walledcarbonnanotubes(MWNTs),whichweremodifiedonthesurfaceofgoldelectrode,offerssubstantialimprovementsinvoltammetricsensitivityandselectivitytowardsthedeterminationofdopamine(DA).Itcaninhibitthevoltammetricresponseofascorbicacid(AA)whiletheredoxreactionofdopamineispromoted.Whenadifferentialpulsevoltammetric(DPV)techniquewasused,thepeakseparationbetweenDAsandAAswas244mV.Basedonthis,aselectivemethodcouldbeconstructedtodetectDAinthepresenceof1000timeshigherconcentrationofAA.Theeffectofvariousexperimentalparametersonthevoltammetricresponseofdopaminewasinvestigated.Underthechosenconditions,thepeakcurrentsarecorrespondentlinearlytotheconcentrationsofDAintherangeof5107~4104molL1withalimitofdetectionof2107molL1.TheproposedmethodcanbeappliedtodetectDAinrealsamples.
