Description
Angiotensinogen is a precursor of angiotensin-1, 2, and 3; as a member of the serpin family, it is expressed by the liver and secreted in plasma. In response to lowered blood pressure, renin cleaves Angiotensinogen and produces angiotensin-1 (1). Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) further removes a dipeptide to produce the physiologically active peptide angiotensin-2. Angiotensin-2 is involved in regulating mineral balance and volume of body fluids, while Angiotensin-3 stimulates aldosterone release (2). Defects in Angiotensinogen have been linked to renal tubular dygenesis (RTD) and susceptibility to essential hypertension (3).

Storage Condition and Buffer
Store at -20 °C. Buffer: 50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 40% Glycerol, 0.01% sodium azide and 0.05% BSA. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.
