Open vial according to enclosed instructions or visit www.atcc.org for instructions.

Rehydrate the entire pellet with approximately 0.5 mL of #1877 broth. Aseptically transfer the entire contents to a 5-6 mL tube of #1877 broth. Additional test tubes can be inoculated by transferring 0.5 mL of the primary broth tube to these secondary tubes.

Use several drops of the primary broth tube to inoculate a #196 plate and/or #196 agar slant.

Incubate at 26°C for 5-7 days.

Handling notes

Colonies on #196 agar are pulvinate and scalloped. Aerial mycelium is beige and substrate mycelium is brown. Forms coating of white spores, which become grey after extended incubation.
