The system supports the automatic performance of individuel test cycles for Stick-Slip, Wear and Abrasion or both in combination.

Every cycle can be changed or deleted at any time. Complete cycles can be saved to a file and can called when needed.

The test serves to capture Stick-Slip phenomena and determines the coefficent of friction for material pairs under typical operating conditions.The standard VDA 230-206 measuring mode has established itself   worldwide to investigate the behavior of leather, artificial leather, fabrics, thermoplastics,coatings and metal. Input parameters are normal force and relative velocity. The test can be performed in a temperature range of -40° up to 85°C at humid, dry and wet humidity. An attached climate sensor captures the temperature and humidity.

High relative velocity

The high relative velocity of 1 to 200 mm/s enables new applications like the simulation of window regulatores and sliding roofs. The known waer and abrasion tests from the DSSP-03 are still possible. Additionally individuell test scenarios for Stick-Slip behavior can be implemented.

Ease of use

The main focus when developing the test rig was simplicity and user friendliness. The control elements with the material samples are easily accessible and clearly arranged. The overall size of the test rig makes it possible to place it inside a climatic chamber.

Infeed mode

The infeed of the mounted sample on the coil drive happens over a force and displacements sensor. This allows to choose variable infeed velocities, as well as exact force and displacements regulation.

Lifetime testing

Lifetime testings invastigates the loss of functionality over the lifetime of a product.The lifetime will be connected to physical parameters like mileage of a vehicle or revolutions of a shaft. In order to reproduce the lifetime in a short period of time, time lapse is used. In the past a few very interesting approaches for the usage in vehicles has been developed.

Realizations of the standard measuring mode VDA 230-206 represents the current world standard. Furthermore additional testing modes like BMW PR 315, BMW TL 9169300, VW/ADUI/Porsche TL 52064 and Ford L400 can be selected. They include the preset of all parameters for the Stick-Slip machine and the corresponding evaluation number. An optimal user defined mode allows an experienced user to define their own test procedure.

 In order to investigate wear and abrasion the programming of the test procedure is very important, because in connection the change of the coefficent of friction and the Stick-Slip behavior need t be determined. The automatic function is very usefull for such test. With the automatic functions funcitonality of a material, a coating or a surface is easily obtained.

With the Force and Displacement controlled feed mode the elastic-plastic behavior of soft materials (e.g. Seals) can be determined. With previous generations of the DSSP it was not possible to test such influence quantities under real conditions. The DSSP-04 can perform the deformation measurement with a displacement controlled force and a force controlled displacement as the measured value. The physical parameters will be shown in a Force-Displacement diagram. The dynamic investigation refers to a consequence of fixed frequencies or a fast evaluation with Sinus- Sweep.
