Measured by its ability to inhibit IL-4-induced proliferation of TF-1 human erythroleukemic cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.25-1.0 ng/ml in the presence of 0.2 ng/mL of Recombinant human IL-4.

A DNA sequence encoding the human IL4R (NP_000409.1) (Met1-His232) was expressed with the Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus.
