非贵金属(M-N-C)碳基催化剂具有替代Pt催化剂作为燃料电池阴极氧还原反应(ORR)催化剂的潜力,但制备高活性M-N-C碳基催化剂及表征其活性位结构是非常困难的。课题组通过设计一个含有M-Nsubx/sub配位结构特征的小分子进入碳材料中,从而自下而上的制备出活性位结构明确的Cu-Nsub4/sub-C催化剂(见下图)。运用原子分辨率的球差校正扫描透射电镜(Aberration-Corrected STEM) 、X射线吸收精细结构谱(XAFS)及飞行时间二次离子质谱(ToF-SIMS),证实Cu以单原子分散在石墨烯中以及Cu-Nsub4/sub活性中心的配位结构,并用X射线光电子能谱(XPS)、电化学和理论计算方法证实Cu-N4接在石墨烯片锯齿/椅型边形成的活性位是最有效的ORR活性位,且Cu中心的电子结构与Osub2/sub分子的反键π*轨道有好的对称性。该项工作从原子或分子水平上阐明了催化活性位及活性位结构的调控机制,为设计发展新型非贵金属碳基燃料电池催化剂提供了理论指导。论文Aberration-Corrected
