The 2487/2489 detectors use a standard 10mm path length spectophotometric cell (quartz cuvette). The cuvette is inserted with the frosted sides facing up and down in the cuvette holder when placing it into the detector flow cell assembly. Fingerprints on the clear quartz sides interfere with the light path and compromise the integrity of the cuvette scanning operations. Since the cuvette scan is aquired by measuring the absorbances from a light path that includes both the flow cell and the cuvette, the solvent conditions in the flow cell should be identical for both the zero scan and the sample scan?
