It retains the high throughput ofthe single spectrometer, and measurements are obtainedin just a few seconds or minutes without any limitation inthe higher wavenumber region. Stokes and Anti-Stokesspectral features can be simultaneously measured, providingadditional information to the user. Traditionally, low frequency analysis has been confinedto large research systems or complex and expensiveinstruments such as far IR, terahertz spectrometers or triplemonochromator. Thus, the module opens up new areas ofresearch for routine Raman microscopy. ULF provides important information on a range of sampletypes, from pharmaceutical polymorphs or carbon nanotubesto heavy metal halides and semiconductors. The ULF modecan give details on conformational changes, subtle changesin lattice structure and even gaseous phase bond length,parameters not easily accessible oon nt:raditional benchtopequipment.
