POSITION: We have the Coolest Customers on Earth. You can help them to be successful. Our field Applications Scientists and Engineers provide them with the highest level of support for both pre- as well as post-sales activities – for both applications and instrument related issues. Our core markets are in the science arena, but we are also supporting an increasing number of customers in industry. This position focuses on the Greater China region, primarily on science applications and on industrial ones secondarily. It is based in Beijing, P.R. China.
Picarro is expanding the Greater China focused organization to adequately address our expanding customer base and potential. The position works closely with and reports to the Greater China Sales Manager. It will require about 30% (mostly domestic) travel.
We are looking for people who are hands-on, willing to look at projects with a fresh perspective and are undaunted by exciting challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Support the development of plans and strategies for continuously driving our science business in China and achieving the company’s sales goals. 2. Assist Picarro’s local sales team or channel partners in technical sales enquiries, RFP responses, bids, and customer visits to win our customer’s business. 3. Receive incoming field questions from customers or channel partners and help respond by providing detailed technical research, answers and documents. 4. Ability to be a good listener, and to understand customer problems or questions and help them solve it. 5. Analyze and critically evaluate customer-supplied instrument data to determine instrument health, proper measurement setup, etc. and provide guidance to customers on experiment design. 6. Be proactive, look for problems before they surface; fix them. Be a good communicator. 7. Work closely with other team members of the organization to solve problems properly and effectively. 8. Help our customers help each other – work to develop links between customers to share advice and experience. 9. Evaluate Picarro technology in comparison to our competitors’ technology and create compelling sales tools that help highlight our advantages. 10. Identify and monitor trends in the local markets we serve. Champion recently growing industrial applications. 11. Provide stellar application support for KOLs 12. Support Marketing and Business development activities, by providing localized material, giving seminars, etc. 13. Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of the entire Picarro product line.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master or Ph.D degree (or equivalent) in the physical sciences or engineering and at least 3 years related work experience. 2. Experience in industrial applications and organizations a plus (esp. Semiconductor, Pharma or Food industries). 3. Hands on experience with gas concentration and stable isotope analysis instrumentation. Preferably experience with Picarro analyzers. 4. Results-oriented team player with a “make it happen” attitude and drive for success in a fast paced environment. 5. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities in a sales environment with enthusiasm. 6. Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 7. Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization. 8. Self-starter that can work independently, make necessary decisions and follow through with action plans. 9. Bi-lingual (English and Mandarin). 10. Preferred location is Beijing
