这里的compendial就相当于Pharmacopeial。在USP凡例里有这么一句话：
The word "official", as used in this Pharmacopeia or with reference hereto, is synonymous with "Pharmacopeial", with "USP", and with "compendial".

From http://www.fda.gov/Cder/dsm/POL/pol-005.htm :

“Compendial Name: The name of an article for which a monograph is provided in an official compendia (e.g., United States Pharmacopeia, National Formulary, or Homeopathic Pharmacopeia) recognized by the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. An article may be an official substance or official preparation.”

Where official -> United States; then compendial ->Pharmacopeia

Therefore, compendial method -> 药典方法
