因为我是要在references使用的
所以必须是简写的

dissertation用来表示论文更书面些，个人感觉如果和别人谈话用thesis显得更随和点。

我就是在文章里面用
但是不知道这么写

Master’s thesis (or M.S. thesis, M.Sc. thesis, M.Eng. thesis etc.) in engineering
Doctorate thesis (or Ph.D. thesis) in engineering
