on and after July 1, 2011, no person shall offer for sale or distribute for promotional purposes button cell batteries containing mercury or any product containing such batteries.
(e) Notwithstanding the provisions of section 22a-617, on and after July 1, 2011, no person shall offer for sale or distribute for promotional purposes button cell batteries containing mercury or any product containing such batteries. A manufacturer that produces or sells button cell batteries containing mercury or any product containing such batteries shall notify retailers about the provisions of this subsection and how to dispose of the remaining inventory property in accordance with this title.
After December 31, 2011, a person may not sell or offer to sell or distribute for promotional purposes a mercury-added button cell battery identified in this paragraph or a product that contains a mercury-added button cell battery identified in this paragraph
(d) Button cell batteries. After June 30, 2011 a person may not sell or offer to sell or distribute for promotional purposes a mercury-added cell battery for consumer use or a product for consumer use that contains a mercury-added button cell battery, except Hg-silver oxide batteries may be offered for sale or distributed for promotional purposes until January 1, 2012.
Beginning six months after the effective date of this section, no person shall offer a mercury-added novelty for sale or distribute such a novelty for promotional purposes in this state unless the only mercury in the mercury-added novelty is a removable button cell battery. Beginning January 1, 2011, no person shall offer any mercury-added novelty for sale or distribute any mercury-added novelty for promotional purposes in this state.
