Display a real-time (Snapshot) TIC - gc/MS
Snapshot is activated by selecting File / Take Snapshot.
Snapshot is used during data acquisition to display the data that has been acquired up to the time Snapshot is activated. If a scan run is in progress it displays a TIC. If a SIM/Scan run is in progress it will display both scan and SIM data in separate windows.
Mass spectral data can be extracted from the TIC.
Near the end of the chromatographic run, the Snapshot feature is disallowed because instrument control must have exclusive access to the data file at the end of the run. No snapshot will be taken if the end of the solvent delay time has not been reached. There may be a short delay before the snapshot is displayed. This delay depends on the length of the scans being acquired and the synchronization of communication between Instrument Control and Data Analysis. During the wait, a message displays the elapsed time:
Waited x seconds for Acq to take snapshot. Use Abort to stop.
To cancel the snapshot before it has finished, select File / Abort.
