Foods & drugs are about the livelihood of nation, we have to strengthen supervising and managing to have the best protection for our people.

监管的作用是保护百姓，谈不上祝福，所以不用bless。

个人觉得中文里的“关乎民生”和“护佑百姓”意思上是因果关系，而上面的英文翻译里已经体现出了这种因果关系，再写就重复了，所以就把“护佑百姓”的翻译省略了。

我个人认为上述翻译比较恰当。中文中的有些词语不能简单的按字面翻译。

“protection over” seems not a common usage.

这句话里可以用the general public，这是个很好的词。

在我看到的英文药品法规里，assure比protect更常见。

Preotection on something也可以。
