The injection of 1 -10 monodisperse dr oplets of 35 -67 µm diameter per second into the ICP allowed a study of the effect of desolvation and atomization through simultaneous end-on optical emission spectroscopy measurements of hydrogen, analyte, and Ar lines, which confirmed the beneficial effect, through improved heat conduction, of the hydrogen produced during desolvation.
