The grains had to be soaked overnight before use.The cereal was manufactured from a dough of Graham flour rolled into sheets and baked. The dried sheets were then broken into pieces, baked again, and broken into smaller pieces.

granula这个词挺少见的,词典上只有这么一个。我觉得应该用granule.
