Paramagnetic (顺磁性) atom does not have constant dipole moment. It aligns with applied external magnetic field. The electron spin dipole couples with magnetic spin dipole on neighboring atoms. In addition, the electron spin has fermi interaction with neighboring magnetic spin. Those nuclear spins relax so fast that it is hard or impossible to observe signals. Electron S = 5/2 is strong paramagnetic. You can try to increase temperature or do fast pulsing NMR.

分两个方面说明,一,做H或C谱:含顺磁离子的溶液,会使实验时锁场、匀场变得困难些,采集到的谱图谱峰变宽,甚至影响到相邻谱峰的区分。二、如果是做金属杂核核磁谱,顺磁性的溶液不出信号。此时到顺磁仪器上表征时,则会获得相应的顺磁信号。
当然具体的实验还要具体分析。如果稀土离子是混合价态,一种价态时呈顺磁性,另一种价态呈抗磁性,那么最终的实验效果与对应离子所占的比例有关。
