For arsenite and arsenate determination, a SHIMADZU High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC)-Organic Acid Analysis System (OAAS) was used. The separation of As(III) and As(V) was performed by HPLC with a Shimpack SPR-H (250 mm · 7.8 mm i.d.) analytical column and a Shim-pack SPR-H (G) (50 mm · 7.8 mm i.d.) guard column. Arsenic species were detected on line with OAAS. The mobile phase was a 2mM p-toluenesulfonic acid solution while the reaction phase was a mixture of 0.1 mM EDTA (4 H) and 8 mM N, N-Diethylethanolamine solution. The flow rate was 0.8ml/ min, and the injection volume of sample was 200 lm. The column temperature was kept at 40℃ during analysis.
