【讨论】flammable and inflammable

在表示“易燃”时意思是一样的，inflammable里的前缀-in是来源于拉丁文中的前置词in，表示强调。但很多人误认为这里的-in跟-un一样，是表示相反的意思，所以还是用fammable比较好。

另外inflammable还可以表示某人易怒，flammable好像没有这个作用。

本来我也是习惯flammable，但是国外的msds里面大部分都是用inflammable, 所有我很想知道它们在表示易燃的时候有什么区别？

I just recall a joke:

An American, who is learning Chinese, complains “中国队大胜美国队, we lose. 中国队大败美国队, we also lose.”

flammable = inflammable (it looks like antonym, but synonym)
There is similar case in Chinese; 大胜=大败

真没有想中英文有这么经典的相似之处,都那么能 "忽悠"啊

那么不易燃和不燃应该怎么说呢?

not inflammable
not combustable

"忽悠" mean, when you said it is what, but in ture it is not what, it is just the opposite, or it looks like what, but it is not.

"大败， 大胜，", sometimes just for the "face"
