翻译需要对细节进行专注，要做到信达雅，不容易。

刚发现我所建议的也很累赘, 原译文是否只要改一字也可消除歧义?

或者不必逐字译, 不译discovery, 以下可能较通顺:

“报告描述了5月28到29日期间, (发现)四(个)宗新农场感染低致病性流感的过程。”

意思是：此期间，有四个农场又发现感染低致病性禽流感，关键是new如何翻译，“新增的四个农场”，不是农场的“新旧”之分。

My understanding of the original is “4 new cases (LPAI) which happened in the farms”, 四宗在农场新发生的低致病性流感个案。 Furthermore, both of the words “discovery” and “new” focus on LPAI not the farms.
宗是cases的量词, 较少令人联想到farm (应该没人说四宗农场吧?!), 以为用了宗字就可消除歧义。 不过, 将6/F的“报告描述了5月28到29日期间, 发现四宗新农场感染低致病性流感的过程” 重读几遍, “新农场”一词还是很碍耳, 易产生歧义。
